Dpf manual regeneration

 · Re: DPF Manual regeneration Post by adyskip» Thu am Hello there, i am currently driving a focus mk3 tdci 95 hp, with around km.  · In this episode we show you a troublesome pathfinder that has a few DPF issues with no power Call for help and assistance. When the DPF filter load reaches a predetermined level, the ECU activates a regeneration process to increase the DPF temperature to over ˚C. The engine is set to run in a certain specific way and can inject up to eight times more fuel per stroke to produce a high amount of NO2, which will help oxidize the particulates, increasing the temperature as the exhaust gases pass through the catalytic converter;.

a) If the DPF light comes on (see image above) this means 'regeneration' is needed. b) Once again, read the handbook for instructions. For example 'Drive for 20 minutes at a constant speed of 65mph'. c) If the DPF is not regenerated at this stage and fills to over 90% or 45g, the DPF will need replacing. This is not covered under warranty. MANUAL DPF REGENERATION Manual regeneration allows you to manually clear out the DPF. This can be helpful prior to heavy towing, racing, or prior to going off road in dead or dry shrubs/grass. Completing a manual regeneration cycle will clear the soot mass in the filter, and lower exhaust back pressure/free up exhaust fl ow. A manual regeneration must be conducted when soot builds up inside the diesel particulate filter (DPF) to the point that the vehicle is no longer operable. When this happens, a driver must pull over and initiate a self-cleaning process that can take up to 40 minutes — valuable time that could have been spent on the road.

For a manual regeneration, all of the following conditions must be met. 1. The DPF Lamp must be on or flashing with the Inhibit (Disable) Switch in the Not Inhibited (Not Disabled) position or a regeneration has not been performed in the last 4 hours. Times can vary based on engine rating. Contact the Technical Communicator if you have questions. 2.
